Tia's 6th Birthday Party

This past Saturday, Valentine's Day, we went to Tia's 6th Birthday Party. There were ponies to ride on, so of course Abby loved them. She hopped right on and didn't get off until they were packing up and leaving. She had a lot of fun.

Finally Caught Up!

Wow, I think I finally caught up on the blog. It has really been a crazy year for us.

Brandon's mom got deathly ill in the middle of March and was in and out of the hospital until Thanksgiving. She had her stomach removed, so she was touch and go for about a month. She is definitely an amazing woman and I have seen the Grace of God in her.

Blake is doing good. He is now in 6th grade and 12 years old. He is starting to like girls and I'm not sure how I feel about that. I remember when Brandon and I started dating, he was only 5 years old and I still think of him as being 5 years old. Girls are now calling the house and he will stay on the phone for what seems like hours. He is truly a wonderful kid. He is the sweetest, most compassionate 12 year old you will ever meet.

Abby is our little princess. She LOVES to dress up and dance. Who does that sound like?? Everyday is an adventure with her. She can say her numbers and letters in Spanish and always learning something new. She is definitely just like her mother, temper and all. She is taking dance classes at school in the afternoons, so this May she will have her 1st dance recital. I can not wait! It's hard to believe that she will be 4 years old in July and in a year and a half she will be in Kindergarten. I still remember the day we brought her home from the hospital.

Brandon and I are doing good. Of course, our jobs have been really stressfull. Baptist had a lay off in May, so I've had to do double work for the past 8 months and it has been really trying at times. I think for both of us, this past year has made us realize how special we are to each other and how much our family means to us. We take so many things for granted, that it is hard to stop and be thankful for each an every day that we have with one other and everyone around us. We are so blessed to have wonderful families and friends.

Hopefully, now I can keep up with this thing.

Callaway Gardens

Right after New Year's, we took the kids up to Callaway Gardens for the day. It was overcast that day, but nice. We went to the Butterfly house, which Abby loved, and took a walk around the gardens.

Christmas 2008

We had a wonderful Christmas! Of course, Santa was REALLY good to the kids this year. They both got tons of stuff. Abby's big things were her Dollhouse and her Sleeping Beauty Vanity. Blake got an IPod, clothes and some toys.

Playhouse Disney Live!

Playhouse Disney come to Montgomery in December, right before Christmas, so Steph (my sister) and Mary Beth (my niece) came down and went with Abby and I. My mom even rode down with my sister so she could go shopping. It was a great day. I love it when my mom, sisters and I get together. We always have a great time.

Mary Beth and Abby are 3 weeks apart in age so they are more like sisters than cousins. They will get along for a little while and then they will start fighting and tattling on each other.

Halloween 2008

Abby really enjoyed Halloween this enjoy. She was a kitty cat for her school party and then before we went trick or treating she changed into her Tinkerbell costume. Brandon did a great job picking out the Tinkerbell costume, it looked so cute on her and she loved it.

Veggie Tales Come to Montgomery

The Veggie Tales come to Montgomery back in October. So, Abby and I went with Audrey and her mom to see it. It was really good and the girls had a blast.

Abby's First Swim Lessons

Abby took swim lessons at the YMCA back in August, she really enjoyed it. The only probelm was that she had a real hard time understanding the pool rules, like "No Running". I think the lifeguards would get on to her at least 2 times during her lessons.

Abby's 3rd Birthday Party

I know it's been a while since I posted, life has been really hectic in the Baker household. Between my job, Brandon's mom being sick for most of the year and everyday craziness, we have barely had time to breathe.

Here are some pictures from Abby's 3rd Birthday Party, that was held on 7/20/08. We had it at the YMCA Goodtimes Center. There were a lot of inflatables for the kids to bounce around on. They had a blast!

Weekend in Birmingham

Abby and I went to Birmingham this weekend to visit my parents. Saturday, my mom, sister, Abby and I went to Cottontail's (an arts and crafts show). One of the booths had these things called "pocket pets", they looked like little squirrels that flew. Anyway, Abby loved them. When we got home Brandon looked them up on the internet and they are called "sugar gliders". They were pretty interesting.

I think dancing was Abby's favorite part. So, I guess I'll be signing her up for dance classes in a few months.

Abby's First Party at Libby Lu

On Saturday, Abby went to her first birthday party at Libby Lu and absolutely loved it. At first, I wasn't quite sure how she was going to react but she loved getting her fingernails painted, make-up put on and her hair styled. She thought she was one of the big girls.

Snow 2008

We had a little bit of snow in Montgomery last month, but it didn't stay long enough for Abby to get out and play. It was the first time to snow since I've been in Montgomery, which has been 5 years.

Christmas Day

Abby must have been a really good girl this year. Santa brought her a lot of toys!

Abby wasn't feeling well on Christmas Day, so needless to say after playing all day she was completely exhausted. We found out the next day that she had an ear infection.

Abby had a great Halloween. Brandon was out of town, so Abby and I headed over to her Nana and Grandaddy's house to do some trick or treating. She definitely new something was different about this day than any other day, she got to dress up and eat candy :)

A couple of Sunday's ago we took advantage of the nice weather and went to feed the ducks at Shakespeare Park. It was the first time Abby saw ducks up close and she loved it. We really had a good time.
